Wolf (Highlands County)

Florida LAKEWATCH Water Chemistry Summary

Location: Latitude 27°25'20", Longitude 81°28'26"

Period of record: 4 sampling dates; June 10, 1999 to December 29, 1999

Surface area (Shafer et al. 1986): 122 acres / 49 hectacres

Lake Region (Griffith et al. 1997): Lake Wales Ridge Transition

Geologic formation (Brooks 1981):

The geology is a mixture of two major types dominated by deeply weathered beach and dune sand with some clay lenses of the preglacial Pleistocene and undifferentiated sand with humate zones and concentrations of heavy minerals of the Pliocene.

Physiographic region (Brooks 1981):

The water body lies in the Carlton Ranch Ridge division of the Southwestern Flatwoods District.
