Meet the Team

David Watson

David Watson is the Regional Coordinator for the Florida LAKEWATCH program in the UF/IFAS School of Forest Resources and Conservation, Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences. He received a Bachelor of Science in Biology (zoological track) from the University of Alabama and a Master of Science in Fisheries and Allied Aquaculture (aquatic ecology) from Auburn University.

Before coming to the University of Florida’s LAKEWATCH program, he worked for the University of Alabama, Wildlife International Ltd., Auburn University, the National Biological Service (currently part of USGS) and the Alabama Fish and Wildlife Coop Unit at Auburn University in water chemistry, aquatic macro-invertebrates and fish populations. He has been with the Florida LAKEWATCH program since 1996 coordinating with volunteers and working on research projects in limnology and aquatic biology and has nearly 30 years of experience in those fields.
