Florida LAKEWATCH Water Chemistry Summary

Location: Latitude 28°50'54", Longitude 82°19'46"

Period of record: 49 sampling dates; August 23, 1991 to December 15, 1999

Surface area (LAKEWATCH): 247 acres / 100 hectacres     Bathymetric Map

Lake Region (Griffith et al. 1997): Tsala Apopka

Geologic formation (Brooks 1981):

The geology is a mixture of two major types dominated by phosphatic sand, silty sand, and clay of the Hawthorne Formation and limestone consisting of skeletons of fossils in a silt to sand size matrix of the Ocala Limestone Formation.

Physiographic region (Brooks 1981):

The water body lies in the Hernando Hammock and Tsala Apopka Basin divisions of the Ocala Uplift District.
