What is wrong with the new numeric nutrient criteria for phosphorus and nitrogen in Florida?  Dr. Bachmann reviews the problems associated with an overall number for lakes in this diverse state of Florida and suggests alternate ways to achieve the goal of improving and maintaining quality in our lakes.    December, 2010
Roger Bachmann is a Research Professor of limnology who has been working with Florida LAKEWATCH since 1993.  He works with data collected on Florida lakes by LAKEWATCH and others with the goal of understanding the diversity of Florida lakes in their nutrient concentrations and biology.  Previously, he was a Professor of limnology for 30 years at Iowa State University, Ames. He has a long-term interest in eutrophication and has published many research papers on the subject.
