Meet The Florida LAKEWATCH Team

Regional Coordinator: Eric J. Schulz

Eric Schulz graduated from Bartow Senior High School in Bartow, Florida in 1976. After attending the University of Florida in Gainesville from 1976 to 1980 as a chemistry major, he left to pursue work in the phosphate mines of central Florida. After 10 years of mining experience and analytical lab work, he returned to the University of Florida and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Forest Resources and Conservation in May, 1992. Inspired by the Introduction to Fishery Sciences course instructed by Dr. Daniel E. Canfield, Jr., he decided to pursue a graduate degree in limnology. He was accepted as a master's student into the UF Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences in 1992. While employed as a research biologist for the Florida LAKEWATCH Program, Eric completed the required course work, successfully defended his thesis, and received his Master of Science degree in December, 1997. He is currently employed as a regional coordinator for the Florida LAKEWATCH Program.
