Community Fishing Ponds FFS maintains, stocks, and hosts fishing events at numerous community ponds in Alachua County. Local children participate in maintaining their fishing ponds by helping out on cleanup and community fishing days, and feeding the stocked fish. Youth participants who make the greatest contributions to the maintenance of their local ponds are rewarded with recreational/educational field trips to fish farms, aquatic preserves, and state parks. If you know of a pond that could potentially be used for community fishing, contact Tom Glancy at 352-392-9617 x 236. |
